This week we feature the Urbana Arts Grant-sponsored Midwest Zine Fest! The event is happening tomorrow, April 28 from 11 AM-11:30 PM at the Independent Media Center. Here’s a quick description of the Fest, provided by their website:
The Midwest Zine Fest is a gathering of zine-makers, authors, speakers, musicians, and other rad people for the purpose of celebrating zines and zine culture! The festival will include interactive events, food, speakers, music, and plenty of zines. The festival is open to the public and admission is free.

This week we spotlight the Boneyard Arts Festival, which takes place this weekend, April 19th-22, 2012 throughout Champaign County. 40 North | 88 West, the Champaign County Arts, Culture, and Entertainment Council, is a 2012 Urbana Arts Grant recipient for the Urbana Day of the Boneyard Arts Festival on Saturday, April 21. One of the first festivals supported by an 2012 Urbana Arts Grant is the Urbana-Champaign Mini Maker Faire, occurring Saturday, April 14th at 202 South Broadway in Urbana. To get more information about the Faire, we spoke with Suzanne Linder, one of the program’s organizers.
